Neal Martin
The 2020 Pinot Noir is a step up from the Walker Bay Pinot, featuring scents of brambly red fruit, incense, tinned peach and rose petals. The palate is medium-bodied with very supple tannins and a fine bead of acidity. Quite voluminous and mouth-filling, yet graced with a lovely caressing texture. Very fine. 92 points

Represents all soils of home-farm sites, imbued with perfume & structure. Layered & tightly packed, 2020 animated acid in harmony with cherry & cranberry flavours, tannins & oak, 26% new. Less savoury, more fruit-forward than 2019 (5 stars, 95 pts), same sense of quiet strength waiting. Like pinot siblings, mostly wholeberry ferment, portion wholebunch; tighter-grained oak. 94 points
