2020 Mestres Coquet Cava Gran Reserva

The 2020 Coquet Gran Reserva Brut Nature is their youngest and most approachable wine. It combines grapes (Xarel.lo, Macabeo and Parellada) from their own vineyards with purchased ones but is produced with the same care as the rest of the range. It was fermented and kept in stainless steel and refermented in bottle with an elevage sur lie of 42 to 48 months, also closed with natural cork. It`s super clean, harmonious and precise, balanced and elegant, serious and fresh, with abundant small bubbles. 87,080 bottles produced. The bottle I tasted had been disgorged in November 2024. 92+ points
