John Livingstone-Learmonth
full, bright red; the bouquet is involved with ripe blackberry, oak, a sweet and secure ripeness, has a light meaty angle, blood droplets, will come together. The palate delivers a richness that has style, its outside firm, with tannins that support it in compact fashion. There are iron notes on its resolute, concentrated finish. It holds well, is interesting, the most interesting of the red range. 14.5°. Bottled 15 Feb 2022. From 2025. 4 stars

Deep, dark, profound. Black-olive character combined with sweetness of dark plum/cherry fruit. Fresh, lifted, rounded. A classy St-Joseph with no hard edges. Clean, lingering finish. 16 points

Lovely authentic fruit, there`s a touch of maltiness in with the blackberry and blackcurrant. Medium-bodied, fresh and aerial in style, with no excess weight or extraction. Grainy, fibrous tannins and a peppering of dried herbs over the top, this is savoury and textural. From a parcel of 40-80-year-old vines at the southern limit of Tournon, grown on granite. 80% destemmed, aged in barriques and demi-muids. 93 points
