Antonio Galloni
The 2019 Geremia (Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon) feels especially marked by the Cabernet in both its flavor profile and structure. I can certainly see why Marco Ricasoli did not present this wine with the rest of his range earlier in the year. At this stage, the 2019 is marked by bright acids and incisive tannins that need time to soften. There’s terrific saline-infused energy here and plenty of persistence, but the 2019 needs time to be at its best. Dried herbs, flowers, mint, tobacco and cedar resonate off a core of dark-toned fruit. Patience is the name of the game. 94+ points
