The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet Morgeot Clos de la Chapelle 1er Cru is well-defined on the nose, offering scents of honeysuckle and yellow plum, then lemon thyme and light crushed stone aromas. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity. Not quite as harmonious as the Abbaye de Morgeot on the finish; this is slightly more attenuated and bitter at the moment. But it has good potential for a Chassagne made in a classic style. 90-92 points

Pale lemon and lime, a bit more lifted than the Abbaye. This is a very substantial wine with lifted fruit, more in plums than pears, clearly ripe, showing its power, but still very well balanced. 92-94 points

The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeot Clos de la Chapelle (Duc de Magenta) is another success, mingling notes of white flowers and pear with hints of orange oil, buttered toast and clear honey. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and layered, it`s deep and complete, with fine concentration and bright balancing acids. 92-94 points
