Tamlyn Currin
Peppery nose. Juicy fruit channeled through a dense network of dry, firm, super-spicy tannins. A beautiful lift of dried herbs (sage, rosemary, lavender and oregano) and, a bit like their Cabernet, this lovely savoury-sweet element that is like oven-roasted cherry tomatoes with roasted vine and white pepper. Very gouleyant. 17 points

Remarkably floral and fresh, the 2019 Carmenere Carminium wafts up with pepper-tinged red currants, rosemary and ground ginger notes. This is a model of purity with bright acidity lifting its mineral-tinged red fruits as savory spices swirl throughout. The 2019 finishes classically dry and lightly structured, leaving tart raspberry hints lingering. This is such an incredibly pretty vintage for Carminium. 92 points
