2019 contrasts fruit sweetness with leafy, spicy intensity & freshness, moderating 14% alcohol. Fine-grained tannins provide balanced structure & form. Still primary, youthful; deserves time. Natural ferment, older oak, as all. 93 points

This Cabernet Franc comes from the lower slopes of the majestic Helderberg mountain, just a couple of kilometres from False Bay. Leafy, pure and refined, it`s a South African take on a Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil from the Loire Valley, with subtle wood, granular tannins, red berry fruit and commendable precision and palate length. Drink 2021-25. 93 points
