The 2019 Cappella is brooding in demeanor, almost uncharacteristically so. Dark and potent, with huge tannins, the 2019 is a behemoth. Licorice, gravel, crushed rocks, lavender and spice play off a core of inky blue/purplish fruit. This is a tremendous showing from a wine that usually gives the impression of being pretty approachable young. 97 points
