Jasper Morris MW
Bright mid purple colour. There is clearly good fruit weight to this, more ripe red berry and less of the cherry stones in comparison to the village wine. The fruit fills the mouth from start to finish and while tannins and even a little acidity are present, the fruit wins out. This is a powerful wine which can hold its own. 88-91 points

The 2018 Auxey-Duresses 1er Cru is a blend of Grands Champs and Les Duresses raised in around 30% new oak and 100% de-stemmed. It has a perfumed bouquet of crushed violets and iris, dark cherries and bilberry fruit. The medium-bodied palate delivers supple tannins and a fine bead of acidity. Taut and crisp with quite a saline, punchy finish. Excellent. 89-91 points
