Bottled last spring, the 2018 Nuits Saint-Georges Village has an attractive nose of black fruit, touches of pain grillé and black pepper. The palate is medium-bodied with quite dense red fruit on the entry. Structured and serious for a Village Cru, and there is firm grip on the saline finish. This will require two or three years in bottle. 88 points

Pure mid purple with a really encouraging mixed red and black fruit nose. Great energy. Deliciously juicy, more red than black on the palate, quite a bit of oak that it will digest easily. This is a great start to the range. 90-93 points

The inherent power of the 2018 vintage chez Chevillon is readily apparent from the first wine in the lineup this year, as this is a big, deep and pure example of old vine Nuits AC. The bouquet is ripe and sappy, jumping from the glass in a mix of red and black cherries, venison, chocolate, dark soil tones, woodsmoke and a touch of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and ripely tannic, with a rock solid core of fruit, fine focus and grip and a long, nascently complex and chewy finish. This will be the first wine to come forward in the stables this year, but I would not touch a bottle until it has seen ten years flow swiftly by. Drink 2028-2055+. 89 points

A relatively high-toned nose features notes of primarily red berries that are trimmed in discreet nuances of warm earth and wood. The attractively vibrant medium-bodied flavors are understandably bigger, richer and firmer and particularly so on the saline-inflected and again slightly rustic finale. 87-90 points
