2018 Paul Jacqueson Rully Blanc Margotes
Secondary Description
25% new wood, with a slightly stronger toast than on most other barrels they use. The vines are relatively young in this cuvee, and it doesn’t seem to have quite come together at this stage. But I think it may knit together with a bit of time. Closer in style to Pucelle than Gresigny, even if it doesn’t have the former’s richness. Makes me think of lemon curd on toast. (NT 09/01/20)

Intense but very attractive nose, they really judge the oak well. A ripe mid palate and lovely mandarin skin – a bit of textural bite here also and a slight wet-wool note on the finish. 16 points
