Clear pale colour, the nose really shows the wood. Benoît agrees that the wine shows the wood too much at this stage but he is comfortable with that, as he knows that it will integrate and add complexity over the first few years in bottle. It works on the deeper soil of Vaupulans (where his holding is) whereas it would not elsewhere in Fourchaumes. Sweetly delicious, with some cinnamon, the wood will add complexity. Very long, this is potentially very good wine in its style. 90-93 points
