2018 J-M Millot Cote de Nuits-Villages VV
Secondary Description
Vieilles Vignes
Alix Millot and her dad lost 40% of this plot during the summer, so got 10 barrels from 1.5 hectares - disappointing in a supposedly large vintage. The wine is perfumed with structure from those old vines but beautifully fine tannins: all fruit-coated. It has good length and is 13.5% alcohol. (CW 4/11/19)

There is touch of herbal tea to the relatively cool and reserved red currant and soft earth fragrances. There is both good energy and detail to the delicious flavors that terminate in a slightly grippy and drying finish that may have some lingering hail effects. 86-89 points

Bottled. Classic, fragrant, dark and lightly peppery fruit. Tastes dry in a stemmy sort of way on the palate, paper-fine texture, almost chalky but there’s an elegance here even though there is a slight lack of flesh in the middle. 15.5 points
