A mix of domaine and purchased grapes. 35% whole bunch. Usual rich mid purple, with not too much nose. Bulkier than the 1er cru, certainly ripe but still in balance, some plums in the fruit bowl here, fair length. 90-92 points

The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Les Gruenchers 1er Cru is two-thirds purchased fruit and one-third from the domaine. Attractive rose petal and ground chalk scents percolate through the red berry fruit on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with chalky tannins on the entry. Lively and energetic, with impressive energy on the finish, which feels slightly confit in style, and a dab of licorice on the aftertaste. Good length and good potential here. 90-92 points
