Media Reviews

Jasper Morris MW

Glowing purple, vibrant ripe fruit, sweet strawberry and cherry, but balanced with some good structure behind, perfumed fruit sings out at the back after a slightly tougher nose. 89-91 points

Neal Martin

The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Village is showing just a little jamminess on the nose, a little confit in style. The palate is well balanced with sappy black fruit laced with white pepper, and gentle grip on the marine-influenced finish. Fine. 88-90 points

The négociant bottling of 2018 Chambolle-Musigny from Dujac Fils et Père is a ripe and black fruity example of the vintage this year, offering up a nascently complex nose of plums, dark berries, a good base of soil tones, dark chocolate and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, tangy and nicely sappy at the core, with a nice touch of backend tannin and a long, tasty finish. Drink 2024-2045. 88-89 points

A notably ripe yet fresh nose consists mostly of red currant, raspberry and a floral wisp. The delicious middle weight flavors possess a succulent mid-palate that contrasts somewhat with the intense and raspy, indeed grippy and slightly rustic, finish that is borderline robust. The tannins seem to lack just a bit of phenolic maturity. 86-89 points

A definite meaty nose here. Bovril? Very meaty plus dark-red fruit. Firm and dry. Doesn’t have the Chambolle perfume I expected. Depth of fruit but strange to have this meaty, savoury character – Jeremy Seysses says he thinks it is slightly reduced rather than bretty (they had it analysed). 16+ points
