Poised and focussed, this gentle golden wine is easily one of the most successful of the vintage here. It has the beautiful pull between sweetness and acidity that not everyone has achieved in this late-harvest year. The texture is luscious and silky, but the flavours are bright and heading towards tart, with notes of lime, papaya and passion fruit. It`s very good quality, showing clear minerality with a sense of life and freshness. A delicious wine, great job. 30% new oak. 97 points

100% Sémillon, yield 21 hl/ha, 30% new oak. RS 139 g/l. Syrupy pineapple nose and a touch of spice, and what seems like sulphur. Better on the palate, broad and sweet and spicy. Decent acidity but a bit rustic. Better on the second tasting too. 16.5 points

Pale lemon-gold colored, the 2018 Doisy Daëne bursts from the glass with vibrant mango, green guava and pink grapefruit notes plus hints of honeycomb, peach blossoms and almond croissant. The palate has bags of freshness and energy with a lovely silken texture and long finish. 92-94+ points

Yet again we have another cuvée which is 100% Semillon, with none of the Sauvignon Blanc planted here making the cut. The alcohol is 13.5%. A lightly chalky nose here, with smoky yellow plum and yellow peach substance. The palate is fresh, pure, bold and broad, with a rich textural weight, sweet and polished, the overall build quite tightly grained, with a bright and incisive acidity. This feels classically Barsac in style, showing poised and minerally sweetness, and with a lovely grained energy to it. It has charming length too. Well done. Tasted three times. The élevage will be in 30% new oak. 91-93 points
