Yellow peach, acacia honey, botanical herb and the bare beginnings of petroleum shape the enticing nose on this gorgeous white. Smooth, savory and polished, the structured, medium-bodied palate features juicy apricot, ripe pear and honeyed almond before a salty, mineral finish. Lemon drop flavors come out later. Drink now or hold for even more depth of flavors and complexity. Now through 2027. 95 points

The Roagna 2017 Derthona Montemarzino is a pure expression of the Timorasso grape, heralded as one of the most exciting combinations of grape and emerging territory to be found in Italy in recent years. From a hot vintage, this wine is abundant, rich and generous. It shows a luminous golden color with a combination of sweet and tart aromas. For example, there is Calabrian bergamot, orchard fruit and yellow rose. There are dustings of mineral and petrol like you might find in a Riesling. Fruit comes from a one-hectare plot in the Colli Tortonesi with very rocky soils at 400 meters above sea level. This wine has been produced since 2014 thanks to land that was acquired by one cousin from another cousin. Some 250 12-bottle cases were produced. 93+ points

The 2017 Timorasso Derthona Montemarzino is absolutely gorgeous. Lemon confit, chamomile, mint, sage, green apple and almond all grace this super-expressive, mid-weight white. The 2017 spent two years in cask. Creamy and inviting, with terrific freshness as well as nuance, Roagna`s Timorasso is sublime. You have to taste this wine. Drink 2019-2025. 93 points
