Joe Czerwinski
A solid introduction to the Negly lineup, the 2017 La Clape la Falaise is a full-bodied but admirably focused wine, with robust black cherry and plum flavors complemented by bright acids and a gentle touch of oak. It`s 40% Syrah (aged in 300-liter barrels) and the rest equal proportions of Grenache and Mourvèdre (aged in tank). The tannins are ripe and plush, giving this wine a broad, supple feel in the mouth, yet the wine lingers elegantly on the finish. 92 points
