A deft cut of acid at the front of the tongue, but then a certain richness spreads along the palate. Raised mainly in foudre, but also 20% new wood, which shows up on the finish. A nice combination in a classy wine, and the richest of the Marc Colin premier crus. (NT 21/02/19)

The 2017 Saint-Aubin en Montceau 1er Cru has another quite riveting bouquet with touches of yellow flower, dried quince and crushed stone that needs a little encouragement. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, so elegant and refined with a precise, mineral-driven bouquet that unfolds in the glass with aeration. You can feel the salinity 45 seconds after the wine has exited. Superb. (DIAM closure).91-93 points
