Chris Kissack
From a very well-known vineyard, these vines having originated with the old Jo Pithon domaine. The soils are windblown sand and schist, and the élevage is twelve months in barrel and six months in wooden cuve, after which it goes into bottle. It is immediately clear that this is a huge step up from entry-level cuvée, kicking off with an aromatic, fresh, lemony and bright nose, which feels clearly defined. The palate reflects this definition, with a lemony frame wrapped around a minerally substance, fresh and pure, with a wonderful energy, drive and direction. The finish has real bite and energy. This just feels so correct. 93 points
