Bouscaut has always been a personal favourite, so I am delighted to see it gracing the shelves of Uncorked again. While there is a certain richness to the texture of this wine, it is also alive with energy and very nimble on its feet. Notes of white flower, lemon curd and just a whiff of smoke. 2017 is a fabulous vintage for Bordeaux dry whites. 68% Sauvignon Blanc, 32% Semillon. Fermentation and elevage with lees stirring in 40% new oak barriques. (NT 18/10/19)

The 2017 Bouscaut Blanc has an attractive almond and white flower scented bouquet that gradually unfurls in the glass. The palate is fresh on the entry with a fine bead of acidity, smooth in texture with a touch of lemongrass on the finish. I am a little cautious with my score here although I am fully aware how well this shows once in bottle so it may deserve an upgrade down the line. 89-91 points
