2014 Chapoutier Ermitage L`Ermite Blanc

The nose on this is intensely mineral. It`s quiet on the fruit end but has a touch of almost chlorine like aromas like some Rheinhessen Rieslings. It is quite different from the often rhubarb heavy flavours you get. In the mouth, this 2014 Chapoutier L`Ermite Blanc is grapefruit citrus and green plum. The finish is long and palate cleansing. Lave la bouche as the French say. The soil in this plot is a particularly alkaline granite that encourages truffles. (CW 19/05/15)
