2013 Paul Pillot Chassagne Clos St-Jean
Secondary Description
The Domaine Paul Pillot Chassagne 1er Cru Clos St-Jean is the first premier cru we taste here, but its lowly place in the order isn`t reflected in the quality of the wine. It`s a bigger and richer wine than the villages and the St-Aubins and has richness. But it`s still that slightly leaner Pillot style. Long and good. (CW 03/11/14)

An attractively fresh, cool and bright nose offers up notes of wet stone, lemon peel, white flowers and a very subtle hint of wood toast. The vibrant medium weight flavors are notably more mineral-inflected while retaining a lovely texture on the lingering and well-balanced finish. Moreover there is a firmer acid spine that imparts a bit more finishing verve. 90-92 points
