There are two Châteauneufs made in 2012, the classique and the Auguste Favier, with no Collection Charles Giraud. The 2012 Châteauneuf du Pape is another beautiful vintage here, and it offers classic kirsch, blackberry, roasted meats and toasted spice to go with a medium to full-bodied, ripe, layered and seamless style. The tannin here builds on the palate, but is fine and polished. Give this another year or two and enjoy bottles through 2027. 91 points
