Robert Parker
A terrific effort in 2012 from a northern Medoc vineyard near St.-Christoly, this blend of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot, 14% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc possesses sweet, soft, sexy tannins, a surprisingly opulent mouthfeel, impressive purity and a medium-bodied, long finish. Clos Manou continues to over-perform for its humble pedigree. The 2012 should drink well for 6-10 years. 89-91 points

What an outsider! And does he drop off a little this year? Not at all; in fact the opposite! Well done. Very well done! Deep colour with good intensity. Fruity, floral nose that is smooth and elegant. It has the year’s softness. Attractive start with soft smoothness that caresses the tongue, then becomes dense and full, developing taste and outstanding softness for the vintage. It is elegant and melts on the finish ending long and full of flavour. This is amazing work. Blend. 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot, 12% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc. 91-92 points

Good medium ruby. Aromas of black cherry, mocha, minerals and licorice. Sweet, supple and smooth, with savory notes of cocoa and smoke complicating ripe black fruit flavors. The nicely tactile, almost creamy finish displays suave tannins and lingering herbal soil tones. A big success in 2012. 87-89 points
