2012 Chapoutier Cote Rotie Mordoree

Secondary Description
There`s no Viognier in this, in keeping with the no blending rule and the vineyard is on the junction of the Cotes Brune and Blonde. The wine is fresh and dense, with a touch of oak on nose and palate. In texture it`s silky with mineral glazed black fruit. Quite backward - it needs to be left to come out of its shell. Perhaps 2021 or thereabouts. (CW 03/06/13)

Gritty and dry on the end. Transparent and lively. Sinewy. At the junction of Côte Brune and Côte Blonde. No Viognier. Almost brutally dry on the finish. Not as magic as their Ermitages. Drink 2015-2028. 17 points
