2012 Chapoutier Bila-Haut VIT Ctes Roussillon

This vineyard is planted on schist, so Grenache is dominant. As a result, this is an immediately appealing wine, with dark cherry aromas and flavours, a touch of dusty spice and garrigue flavours and great mineral finish. This is tight and together and is distinctively different from the Chateauneuf Grenaches - it`s identifiably Roussillon, which as we know is a Good Thing. (CW 03/06/13)
