2011 Serilhan (St-Estephe)

This mature left-bank claret offers fantastic value for the money. Initially, the nose wafts rich, opulent dark fruit out of the glass. The brooding fruit is held together by a nice backbone of belt leather and then balanced out with a touch of mint and mocha. After a couple of hours though, the darkness gives way to the light, and you are left with a wine with a surprising lightness, refined tannin and good acidity. (TH 21/11/2021)
