You might like it or not, but the nose of the 2011 Pulenta Gran Cabernet Franc XI really screams Cabernet Franc, a grape that seems to be gaining traction in Argentina. It has the bell-pepper, grassy and spicy aromas with perhaps a soapy touch that didn`t drive me crazy. The palate shows the house style of polished tannins and I was expecting a little more tension and punch, perhaps some more acidity. It shows great integration of the oak, as the Pulentas seem to have mastered the aging in barrel, which is still a pending issue for many wineries in Argentina. 91 points
