2011 Johann Michel Grain Noir

This comes from the flat part of Cornas below Bouyonnet, and more importantly from the talented hands of young Johann Michel, who split from the family in order to make excellent wine his way. They have good vineyard sites - much of the father`s fruit goes toTardieu-Laurent and Johann farms sustainably. He is beginning the move to biodynamics. This is wonderful value and very tasty Syrah, not oaky, mineral and immensely drinkable over the next five years. (CW 24/06/13)
