Made by Akiko Freeman in the cool Russian River Valley. Not only does she have a phenomenal palate but both the vineyards she and Ken have bought and the ones they buy fruit from are excellent sites with long, slow growing seasons. The wine is svelte and ripe and unforced and though delicious now will age well too. Akiko and Ken may be recent entrants in the game, but they are both committed and talented. (CW 19/11/14)

Josh Raynolds
Deep red. Sexy, spice-accented aromas and flavors of black raspberry and cherry-cola, with a rose pastille nuance gaining strength with air. Juicy and penetrating, with strong finishing cut and silky, harmonious tannins adding grip. Very approachable, especially with a little air. There was 40% new oak used here. 91 points
