Robert Parker
The sensational 2011 Chateauneuf du Pape Les Gallimardes (90% Grenache from over 100-year-old vines and 10% Syrah) is one of the stars of the vintage. Dense kirsch liqueur notes intermixed with notions of lavender, black raspberries, licorice and loamy soil jump from the glass of this deep ruby/purple-colored effort. Full-bodied, expansive, round and generous, it should drink well for 10-12 years. 91-94 points
