2010 Snowden Cabernet The Ranch

Media Reviews

Antonio Galloni

Snowden’s 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon The Ranch is one of the bigger, juicier wines readers will come across in this vintage. Mocha, chocolate, spices, plums and black cherries seem to literally jump from the glass. Merlot plays a pretty important role in the 2010, which gives the wine much of its roundness and early accessibility. Round, expressive and racy, the 2010 Ranch is a terrific effort from Snowden. Drink 2014-2024. 92 points

(blended with 20% merlot, 3% cabernet franc and 2% petit verdot; 50% new oak): Good bright medium ruby. Deep aromas of cassis, black cherry, licorice and menthol enlivened by minerals and sexy cinnamon spice. Then fine-grained and very fresh in the mouth, with a restrained sweetness to the flavors of currant, minerals and brown spices. Finishes with broad, dusty tannins and lingering currant and dark chocolate flavors. 91 points
