This fruity, soft, somewhat commercial, mid-weight St.-Julien offers sweet black cherry and currant fruit intermixed with subtle herb, spice box, and smoke characteristics. While not particularly concentrated, it is a round, aromatic, soft, sensual 2006 to enjoy over the next 10-13 years. Drink 2009-2022.

Dense and polished fruit here on the nose, rather perfumed but tempered by an edge of highly-polished school-desk oak. Attractive though; it is both clean, although with a little gamey tinge to it, and expressive. The palate has good sweet substance, again slightly soft and fleshy, but there is violet-tinged fruit and a nice underpinning structure to it. Overall I find this very attractive. 16.5+ points
