Robert Parker
The 2005 St.-Joseph Les Granits displays the classic stony, flowery, black currant nose with the unmistakable crushed rocks, quince, and licorice notes. Full-bodied, pure, with stunning concentration and intensity, this wine has incredible transparency, as well as depth. It should age for 15 or more years. 95 points

This is still really tight, with an iron-clad structure covering the sweet toast, plum cake, licorice and roasted fig flavors. There’s also plenty of buried minerality. Pure and finely tuned, but in need of cellaring to unwind. Best from 2009 through 2015. 93 points
