Stephen Tanzer
Full ruby-red. Deep, smoky, lightly roasted aromas of black plum, minerals and licorice. Full, round and sweet, with highly complex plum, cinnamon and smoky oak flavors perfectly framed by strong but harmonious acidity. Fat, broad and wonderfully deep. Finishes with outstanding palate-saturating persistence and great lingering sweetness. This wine spends nearly two years in large American oak vats, then another 16 months in new French barriques. 95 points
