1996 Glentauchers, AD Rattray 17 yo 54.5%

Very rarely seen as a single malt, this central Speyside distillery has always been sought after by the blenders, surviving many distillery culls. It did go dark in 1985, but was reopened in 1992. This has fruity and spicy notes with bourbon vanilla and malty flavours. Quite long and doesn`t need as much water as some of these bottlings. (CW 05/06/14)
