Domaine Melody

The northern Rhone is still an important orchard area for France with cherries, peaches and apricots among the crops. When Domaine Melody was formed they found some great terroirs in Crozes-Hermitage planted to peaches and apricots. They decided to sacrifice the peach orchards and turn them into vineyards. The peach variety was Melody and so the estate`s name was discovered. They still have 2 hectares of apricots but those vineyards are now turning out some great wines. Syrah and Marsanne/Roussanne turn out more than respectable wines at very sensible prices. (CW 02/07/18)
