2007 is the most voluptuous of this series, producing generous and open wines of which even the best from today's offer need only a couple of years. The Rosso wines are heralds of the vintage and you may remember how good they were in 07. 2010 Rossi di Montalcino perform a similar function, being brilliant expressions of the village and of Sangiovese, and whetting the appetite for the Brunelli when they eventually come to market. /CW
'Vintage 2007 is a more than worthy follow-up to 2006. It's hard to remember two consecutive vintages of this level in Montalcino... Overall, the 2007s are soft, silky wines that are radiant, open and highly expressive today. My impression is that most of the wines will not shut down in bottle and that 2007 will be a great vintage to drink pretty much throughout its life...
