John Livingstone-Learmonth
(large barrel, bottling July 2023) even red robe, Grenache at the helm. The nose has a sandstone derived, red fruit feel via elegance more than power - inside that façade is depth and compact lining of red fruits, more galet stones influence there along with herbs. The palate gives a free running content, is apart from 2019 and 2020, feels as if it’s expanding as it evolves, has a secure finale, smoked herbal tones there. It’s not a cracker, but carries good potential for a bonny wine. It’s a bit under wraps now, accumulates tannin on close; leave until 2027 and it will reward that patience. 30% whole bunch. 2050-52 4 stars
