The 2021 Madrona Ranch is redolent of scorched earth, bay leaf, tobacco, incense and garrigue. There`s plenty of mid-palate depth and overall intensity, but these days, winemaker Brad Grimes turns out wines with more balanced tannins that aren`t as overpowering as those of the past. This is a superb showing. Drink 2029 – 2043. 98+ points
