2018 Freeman Pinot Noir Akiko`s Cuvee

Red and black cherry dominate the aromas of this Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir, with a touch of clove - still tightly wound and reticent. The palate is bright and fresh, with crunchy cranberry, cherry and raspberry fruit, ripe tannin which frames the palate perfectly and a lingering cherry-cream on the finish. Superb, with excellent ageing potential. (JH 17/03/22)

2018 Freeman Pinot Noir Akiko`s Cuvee

The 2018 Pinot Noir Akiko`s Cuvée is a gorgeous, complex wine. In the past, the Cuvée has been more a wine of impact, but in 2018, the Akiko`s Cuvée is more savory and spiced than in the past. There is a good deal of density that is going to need time to settle down. The 2018 is terrific, but my preferences in this lineup lean towards the vineyard designates. The blend is Yu-Ki, Gloria, KR and Sexton Road. 93 points

This a really stunning, almost intoxicating Pinot Noir! Beautiful translucent colour, wonderful red fruit nose of cherry and cranberry. The palate is smooth and quite rich already. Great as an aperitif but drunk with light sautéed mushrooms and Comte cheese was fabulous. Ok it’s not cheap but I think worth every penny!
