Lemon, white flower and nettle, and that pungent Sauvignon Blanc note that evokes lime juice mixed with wasabi. Round, weighty, full of depth, yet lifted by the bright acidity. The finish is serious, saline and persistent. (NT 30/07/20)

Neal Martin
The 2017 Latour-Martillac Blanc has a lifted linden, Granny Smith apple and nettle scented bouquet that opens nicely with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp acidity, fresh and focused with a satisfying sense of tension. It is a subtle Pessac-Léognan Blanc, unfolding in the glass to reveal light nectarine and stone fruit notes towards the finish. This is a strong performance from Latour-Martillac and it comes recommended. 91-93 points

A touch of reduction on the first nose clears to reveal a tight and austere wine that gathers steam through the palate and finishes with bright, juicy, mouthfilling stone fruits. 91 points

A more subtle aroma than on the Larrivet Haut-Brion just tasted. Citrus and stony minerality. Grapefruit-pith tang. Very crisp on the palate, almost eye-watering, but there`s richness too, full-fruited and sweetened/balanced by the oak. Lightly chewy finish. Moderate length. 16 points
