In a past life, Sorgente was a Rosso di Montalcino. In its present incarnation, we can now enjoy the Salicutti 2015 Brunello di Montalcino Sorgente with fruit harvested in the little vineyard plot beyond the winery. The bouquet opens to tangy and spicy fruit with forest berry, brambly fruit, cassis and pomegranate. Beyond that first layer, you`ll find tar, smoke and cedar wood. This Brunello offers a mild, mid-weight mouthfeel with lean concentration and weight. There is a sour touch on the tannins, and the wine ends on a polished, glossy note. 92 points
