2012 Cape Chamonix Reserve White (Sem/Sauv)

A blend of 60% Sauvignon Blanc and 40% Semillon, the 2012 Reserve White has a tightly wound bouquet with smoke, pine nuts and cold stone, like the Chardonnay Reserve, demanding coaxing from the glass. The palate is well-balanced with a resinous opening belonging to the Semillon, the Sauvignon taking over on the nettle and gooseberry finish that displays good weight and length. Very fine. 91 points
