The 2012 B de Biac is 57% Merlot and 43% Cabernet Sauvignon and spent 14 months in French barriques. After a lovely summer and a damp autumn Biac made beautiful and balanced wines with sensible alcohol levels. Picking started on 9 October for the Merlot and a week later for the Cabernet Sauvignon. The rather wonderful Biac vineyard amphiteatre got plenty of sun to ripen the fruit and this is quite a rich and voluptous claret with good intensity and fine, woven tannins. Great value and a lovely wine to drink now and over the next five to ten years. (CW 15/08/18)
