Robert Parker
Admirably demonstrating the winemaking and viticultural skills of Julien Barrot, the 2011 Chateauneuf du Pape is a seriously endowed wine that transcends the overall quality of this vintage. Its dense ruby/purple color is accompanied by copious aromas of black raspberries, kirsch, lavender and licorice. A sleeper of the vintage, this medium to full-bodied 2011 should drink well for 6-8 years. 89-91 points
