2010 Corte Sant`Alda Amarone Mithas
Secondary Description
Gorgeous. From a single plot of vines dedicated to this wine, which is produced only in the best vintages. Dried cherries, raisins, cranberries, cooked plum, dry earth, vanilla, smoke, fruitcake... somehow reminiscent of a fine old cognac. Toffee and cherry compote on the palate, just starting to show some age; savoury, and all the more distinctive as a result (many Amarone producers will leave a little sugar in the wine). This will slumber happily for another decade, but it is in a lovely place now. (JH 18/11/2022)

Dark red. Explosive, very forward nose of red cherry and underbrush. Then very ripe red cherry, aromatic herbs, peach tea and saline flavors are well delineated and pure. Finishes long and remarkably light and lively for such a big wine, and with a truly noteworthy spicy kick that may not be for everyone. 90 points
