Welcome to August and the annual fizz dissection

As what we hope will be a warm and sultry August dwells only in the imagination, it seems to me that one aspect of Champagne we haven't examined in these frightfully serious annual inquiries is the characters of the grape varieties involved. We have assembled a range of (more or less) single variety wines for you to taste. Are the Champenois missing a trick in not planting more Petit Meslier and Arbane or is Parker correct to say that obscure varieties should stay just that - obscure?
On the tasting:
2010 Chartogne-Taillet Lettre de Mon Meunier
2005 Duval-Leroy Petit Meslier Champagne Authentis Brut
2008 Champagne Moutard Vieilles Vignes Cépage Arbane Brut

2005 Jacquesson Avize Champ Cain
N.V. Fleury Blanc de Noirs Brut
