Tasting: the northern Rhone - cool and restraint

Mostly Syrah, the granitic hills of the northern Rhone nevertheless make an enormous range of wines from the wild to the most intellectual. Only those with inner lives should attend, but that includes everyone from soil-born poet to Hackney-bred slicker.
